Watch Me Not TV

I spent the first half of the day drafting up the roles each partner
will play. In order to run effeciently, two additional partners will be
needed. I have a meeting this evening with one prospect.

I’m having lunch at a restaurant this afternoon wrapping up a few loose ends and I begin to message Brian Dawson with:

“I have a few issues with my partners that are delaying our meet up.”

I delete the message completely and here’s why:

The logistics of this party have been planned. The business, promotional, and sponsorship plans are all complete. I have everything necessary to proceed with the meeting however I do not want to make further progress without bringing in the partner. The issue is that I have no solid partner only planned meetings with people interested in the role.

This is a problem because I am breathing life into it and keeping it alive. I am allowing it to exist as a problem. I have elected to cease all progress until a partner comes on board when I can move forward with plans and let the partner situation work itself out in due time. So my Culture19 problem is internal and is not Brian’s concern. From the outside it looks like an unstable business with a great business model, and flagship promotion. This is my problem. You do not put yourself in a founding role if you do not have the objectiveness to admit a mistake and seek a resolution. I am learning. I cannot think of one reason right now to stop progress. The show must, and will go on.

This past Wednesday I checked out the 202 Lounge & Gallery for Soni’s Wind Up Wednesday’s, which is a new after work social promotion. The space is quite small, but makes the most of the available square footage and features a varying display of art and modern furniture. Only top shelf liquor is offered, sorry Aristocrat sippers. If you don’t know what you’re drinking then you are an Aristocrat sipper but you just don’t know it yet. I’ll be a regular at this spot I just wish they would put up a sign as finding it is quite the task.

As you all know, I have been dedicating quite a bit of time and effort towards putting together a founding team for Culture19. The idea of a talented joining of people who compliment one another is completely ill, and also completely new to me. The entire process is taking its toll, however and today is one of those days where it just is not worth it.

I do hope that the feeling is temporary because it really is a lot of work for any individual, but I’ve also grown accustomed to moving mountains. Missed connections, lack of communication, and failed meet ups have all contributed to this disposition.

Man I hate a fussing blogger, don’t you hate a fussing blogger?

There is nothing that I hate more than someone who uses their blog mainly as an avenue to complain, but I’m all about transparency and if I am going to post messages when things are rolling then I feel obligated to show the other side as well.
